Congratulations to this week's positive office referral recipient, Serenity Phillippo. Mrs. Crane shared, "The freshmen class recently finished reading and viewing "A Raisin in the Sun." I assigned two creative writing projects to go along with the story. Serenity doesn't just do the project, she goes a step above. The first assignment was to take on the role as a realtor and create a flyer that would highlight a new home the Younger's (characters in the story) might possibly be interested in. She didn't just take a Google Doc and paste some pictures with a few words on it; she used a template from Canva and meticulously placed pictures, along with a detailed description of each room in the house. For the other assignment, I wanted the students to really think about their hopes and dreams and write about five specific ideas they had in mind. Next, they were asked to use symbolism to show what that dream was and draw those pieces out on paper. Serenity certainly has a gift of drawing and her artwork is truly amazing; what she turned in exceeded my highest hopes for this project. It is such a joy having Serenity in my class knowing that she is going to take every assignment seriously and put her heart and soul into everything she does. "

Mr. Campbell’s Econ class was able to make a solar eclipse cookie while also becoming aware of the economic boom for cities located in the total eclipse’s path - the hospitality industry definitely took advantage of this major event!
